Retro1.Org ( “Retro1.Org”, “we”, “our”, “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your Personal Information and being transparent about how we collect, use, and share your Personal Information.

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies to your use of our services, your browsing of this website and any of its subdomains rooted at https://Retro1.Org or to any website that includes a link or reference to this Policy (“Website”) and to your use of related services (collectively, the “Services”). This Policy describes how we handle Personal Information (as described below) and the choices available to you regarding collection, use, access and how to update and correct your Personal Information.

  • With Retro1.Org’s operating partners, vendors, authorized third-party agents or contractors to provide our products and services or facilitate transactions. Examples include, but are not limited to: hosting websites and providing support.
  • As the case may be, for further protection of your privacy, Retro1.Org will share your Personal Information in aggregated and/or de-identified form that cannot be used to identify you. Examples include, but are not limited to: site performance and functionality checking (cookies).

Where mandated or permitted by applicable law, regulation or legal process, we will disclose your Personal Information to law enforcement officials, government authorities or other third parties, located inside and outside of the United States, where such disclosure is in accordance with due process of law and binding upon Retro1.Org, to the extent necessary to comply with legal process or meet national security requirements, protect the rights, property, or safety of Retro1.Org its business partners, you, or others.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

Links to third-parties’ websites

The Services may contain links to third-party websites that are operated by companies and entities outside of our control. Your activities on those third-party websites will be solely governed by the privacy policies and procedures of those third parties. Retro1.Org takes no responsibility whatsoever for the content or information practices of such third parties and encourage you to review the privacy polices of these third parties before disclosing any information on their websites.

Content (Posts and Comments)

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

When you post content to this site, you and other authorized users are responsible for maintaining the quality and accuracy of those posts. Once posted, the disposition of the content is solely up to the site operator’s discretion. If you are a copyright holder of the content, you grant a right to use your content in perpetuity. If you leave the site or are removed, the contents will remain.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you write a post, leave a comment, contribute files, images, or any other assets, the assets and their metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize, approve and possibly remove any content automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Choice and Opt-Out

We may send you service communications relating to the Services we provide you via email (e.g. to inform you about changes to the product or service you requested from us, revisions of our terms and conditions or this Policy).
